The wound
At 18 I was doing everything the experts said. I trained hard, ate by the guidelines, and checked every box.
My reward: pre-diabetes, chronic fatigue, and brain fog thick enough to swallow whole afternoons. The doctors ran labs and told me everything looked normal. I was exhausted, and the system shrugged.
The turn
So I fired the defaults. I cut the morning carbs, ate in windows, upgraded my supplements, and got sunlight without the chemical sunscreen.
My energy came back, and that raised a harder question: what else was wrong by default? I started testing everything, ancient practice against modern instruments (breathwork against HRV, fasting against a glucose monitor, sunlight against a spectrometer).
The method
200+ interventions later, the method is simple. The body carries an innate intelligence modern science can’t yet fully measure. Instruments help me listen to it; they never outrank it.
If the dashboard says one thing and my body says another, the body wins. And every result gets published, failures included, because a result you only share when it flatters you is marketing.
Now
Today the work runs through three channels. Outliyr is the platform: 370+ guides, intervention scores, and the data behind them. High Performance Longevity is the podcast: 270+ conversations with the field’s true outliers.
And I build in the open, so you can see what’s on the bench, what survived, and what got dropped. Fourteen years in, still one subject.
